Nicolas Cage Can't Seem To Say 'No' To Films.
ok, so it seems to me that nicolas cage is popping up in a new film every five minutes or so. not that i'm complaining mind you, 'cos he chooses some interesting stuff, and he's obviously a great actor — he describes his acting style as 'Nouveau Shamanic' — but does he realise he can say 'no' to being in a film? i remember reading that he had some tax issues for a while there, which i assumed was the main reason he was doing so many, but i thought that was all sorted out now, and he still seems to be in heaps. anyway, i took a look, and according to wikipedia he's been in --- films over -- years which is around --- per year, or almost 1 every 4 months, which although i have nothing to compare it to, seems like a lot (and it's more than 1 every 3 months if you just look at the last decade, which is not bad given he's now over 60). the chart below shows the months when a film he was in was released* (indicated by , or if two films were released that month, a ) from his first in august 1982 through til the end of 2025.
over this period (along with a few unnamed characters) he's been an 'Al', an 'Amos'', an 'Antonio', an 'Araña', a 'Balthazar', a 'Behmen', a 'Ben' (twice), a 'Benjamin' (twice), a 'Bill' (twice), a 'Brent', a 'Brian', a 'Cameron', a 'Castor', a 'Charles', a 'Charlie' (3 times), a 'Colin', a 'Colton', a 'Cris', a 'Dale', a 'Damon', a 'David', a 'Donald', a 'Doug', an 'Eddie (twice)', an 'Edwar', an 'Enrico', an 'Evan', a 'Frank' (3 times), a 'Gallain', a 'Gary', a 'Grug' (twice), a 'Hank', a 'Jack' (3 times), a 'Jacob', a 'Jake', a 'Joe' (4 times), a 'Joh', a 'John' (twice), a 'Johnny' (3 times), a 'Kyle', a 'Matt', a 'Memphis', a 'Michael', a 'Mike' (twice), a 'Miller', a 'Milton', a 'Nathan', a 'Ned', a 'Nick', a 'Nicky', a 'Noah', a 'Paul (3 times)', a 'Peter' (twice), a 'Randy', a 'Ray', a 'Rayford', a 'Red', a 'Rick', a 'Rob', a 'Ronny', a 'Roy', a 'Seth', a 'Stanley', a 'Stone', a 'Terence', a 'Tom', a 'Troy', a 'Vincent', a 'Walter', a 'Wil' (twice), and a 'Wylie' .
